Presenting lighting, theatre and weather: formerly from the hills of Yorkshire, with bits and pieces of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and trips to Edinburgh; when the music stops, where will neel end up?

My Limited Perspective On The Cumbria Derailment

(viewed 975 times)
Waiting for replacement buses at Penrith. Just got back. Scary stuff.

It's a highly inappropriate entry for it, but Light & Dark was three years old yesterday (kinda - it's complicated). Yay.

Two Turrell's

(viewed 2202 times)
Argus (white), 1967, projection work.
Raethro, Pink, 1968, projection work.

In London last weekend for a couple of Highly Important Meetings - took the opportunity to bag a few more light installations from James Turrell. Five of them are currently installed at the Louise T Blouin Foundation 'til the end of February, along with a set of aquatint etchings, so I almost tripled my Turrell list.

All the pieces could do with better light-traps, and a tenner's a bit steep (concession's are free - bloody students), but The Light Underneath alone is worth the money.

Golden Stairs

The carpet isn't normally that colour. The days are getting longer, the sun has moved 'round in the sky and now sets down my hallway.
