It's officially Spring in the Northern Hemisphere

Autumn in the Southern...
Here's hoping that March 21st will be as Spring like as the past couple of weeks. Good to see the Spring pictures brightening up moblog. Learn something new every day? I always thought that the first day of Spring was the 21st, but now of course realise that it is the day of the equinox which varies slightly and this year was the 20th! Hence the editing, that is if anyone is reading this and notices.

Shrove Tuesday/Mardi Gras

Don't forget your pancakes.
Mainly to people in the UK, next Tuesday, 21st February, means pancakes, but elswhere it means festival or the beginning of the festival season.

To the more religious amongst us it is the feast before the famine, on Ash Wednesday - the beginning of Lent.

Enjoy whatever and good luck with lenten resolutions. If you would like to post some pictures of your celebrations to our group Celebrations., that would be great.

Year of the Dragon

post your pictures in our new group Celebrations
Celebrations is a new group - please post pictures of any traditional/special celebrations to this group. I like to post things that I experience on my blog, so I would post to both, but that is of course up to you. Looking forward to some Chinese New Year pictures. Don't forget you have to join the group first.

A New Server

Moblog has a new server. We've upgraded both our hardware and our software. More up to date versions of everything should mean a much faster and more stable site. Some things may be a little wobbly for the next couple of days, but we're working hard to make sure it's all OK. If you spot any issues, please let someone know via moblogmods or via the contact page.

If you have a custom domain, you'll need to update your records. The new IP address is 95.172.239.12

For the technically inclined, the specs are - Quad Core Intel Xeon 2.53Ghz CPU, 8GB RAM, 4 x 500GB disks in a RAID array. Debian Linux operating system.

spambots !

Please adjust your settings
Dear mobloggers, We seem to be under a weird yet sustained attack at the moment from spambots adding random inappropriate comments to posts all over the site. We are doing our best to remove them as they come up but it would really help if you could adjust your privacy settings so that only registered users can comment on your blogs. This will help keep your lovely blogs nice and spam-free until we can find a better way to fight back. To change your settings, go to "Profile" > "Privacy" > "Who can comment on my blog" switch to "registered users only". Cheers! Spiderbaby
