Cocktails & Dreams

"I see it in pink neon. Blink blink, pinkety blink..."

Cocktail, 1998.

Ana hosted a cocktail party in her very own Lizard Lounge for her birthday on Friday evening. A very boozy night, but all in the best possible taste, of course.

I channelled Noel Coward for the evening...

I've been accepted into the WPJA!

(viewed 2456 times)
Yesterday I found out that I was accepted into the WPJA (Wedding Photojournalist Association -, who are a very recognised body of wedding photojournalists / photographers, representing the more candid, artistic side of wedding photography.

Their entry criteria are very high (the WPJA are global and only represent around 50 photographers in England, despite the many who request to join), and photographers are judged by their online portfolios, so in the run up to christmas I spent a lot of time getting my website up to scratch. Being part of the WPJA has been a dream of mine since I decided to pursue wedding photography, not least of all because they represent the very highest standard of work in wedding photojournalism, and many of their members are - quite literally - world class photographers. I could only hope to be in such esteemed company!

After submitting my details a few days ago, I received a call yesterday evening to tell me I had been accepted. I wasn't expecting to hear from them so soon, but I was thrilled, and I'm still excited now!

My next goal is to win one of their quarterly competitions. The rewards & kudos are great, but the other photographers provide some very stiff competition. The standard is very high.

Anyway, i'm so over the moon, I just had to share :)

Ana - Queen of the Pin

My friend Ana sleeps on a bed of jewels and pins. She dreams of adorning the world with sparkly things and wrapping it in ribbons. When she awakes, she goes to work fashioning brooches, bag charms, kilt adornments, jewel-encrusted clasps - basically she can take a pin and make it look beautiful.

For christmas I opened her anhref="" style="text-decoration: none"> etsy store and took some photos of her creations. Check it out if you're interested - she'll give you a special moblog discount if you want something, and she takes commissions too. She's sweet so just drop her a line.
