SORTING THE WARDROBE
It's been raining all day on my day off, so when we got home I threw most of my clothes away. Worry not, all but the smelliest socks will be recycled in some way. I'm sorry to see these shirts go, but one has to be ruthless. No coathangers were harmed in the making of this post.

THE UNBEARABLE LIGHTNESS OF BEING MY WALLET
since this event http://moblog.net/view/338669/one-too-many-mornings on 16th June, Miss Jenkins has been hanging around in the shop waiting to be mended. At first it was thought she just needed a new mech hanger, but, when the mech hanger came, it became clear the derailleur was not going to be making any more journeys. We did not have one in stock so that too had to be ordered, but in the general mayhem of shop life, Miss Jenkins was low on my list of priorities and got forgotten about. Today I decided to go in on my day off and get her roadworthy again. Having fitted the new mech and cable, it became apparent that not only was the chain a little worse for wear, but the cassette also had to be replaced. (you may remember I replaced the drivetrain on Charlotte Church a couple of weeks ago!) A couple of stainless brake cables too, and she's now running as sweet as you like, ably assisted by the emptiness of my wallet. Just in time for a charity ride next weekend. Anyone up for a 25 miler?
