Urmston

(viewed 3299 times)
We stopped for coffee but Urmston was shut. The shopping precinct is derelict & the town
centre clock has stopped. If tumbleweed had bowled down the main drag it would have
seemed the most natural thing in the world...

Manchester, Northern Quarter

The camera pointing at the stopped clock seemed a nice touch - puts one in mind of
Amélie...
(Note also schonky "creative" "urban regeneration" street sign.)

Stopped Clock: at the junction of Roundhay Road and Easterly Road in Leeds

(viewed 2602 times)
From Richard Tempest:

"This clock is to be found on what used to be known as the Clock
Cinema, currently known as Clock Buildings. It's at the junction of
Roundhay Road and Easterly Road in Leeds. The Clock was one of two
cinemas within walking distance of where we lived so when we went out
to the pictures it was either to the Harehills Picture House (now gone
entirely) or to The Clock. It's where I saw the Beatles movies when
they first came out. Definitely a clock with style, wouldn't you say?
And of course I went past it on the bus every day on the way to school."
