Picnic season begins

And then, just before the film was due to start ...

... a small ice cream fridge to the left of screen became alight with a golden glow shining like a trove full of all the treasure of all the kings of the all the kingdoms of the world. The crowd gazed upon it with wonder for they had not noticed the fridge before but now they could see nothing else. A silence fell over the gathering.

And Lo! An angel appeared and stood before it silently, waiting. And all the children became restless, their eyes moving from the fridge to their parents and then back again. And the parents sighed and reached for their wallets.

We set out, we got distracted again

Party finished we set off home only to decide to detour to Corris in Wales. I remembered that Hobo had suggested Arthur's Labyrinth and I'd read something about Barmouth that suggested it was appealing. We ended up staying a night in a cosy hostel.

We set out ... we got distracted.

We've been over to Wales and back. No 'relax when we get there' travelling here. We detoured to stop at a reclamation yard, a car boot sale, the Venice of the Cotswalds and finally arrived at the mega value gorgeous converted barn we had booked.

On the journey home, distraction amplifies and we end up staying the night in a Welsh slate mining village. Thanks to family for their indulgence. Will post ...
