At a conference around Westminster in London yesterday. I felt I needed to reconnect to some of the policy stuff and found ... well, that nothing had really changed that much. But caught up with an old school friend from New Zealand for a pint afterwards. Sitting in The Speaker, it suddenly struck me that we were both a long way from home.

That's my boy ... and there's my girl
Pic one - parade has started. Griff's reading. That's my boy.
Pic two - Ariana riding on one of the floats and day dreaming. Her art club won first prize for best float.
Pic three - right at the beginning, a car managed to slip past the policeman and drive right into the face of the oncoming parade. A three point turn later, an almighty cheer from the crowd and that car was out of there.
Previous years the parade has been more riotous. You see everyone takes water pistols and water fights break out between those on the floats and those watching. This year, it was a little more subdued.

I can't find my parents ...

Griff hunting for us at the Young Musician's show. Lights were too bright and couldn't find us for a while. Of course, he was all we could see.
