Normally the Underground closes around midnight or so, but on New Year's Eve, it runs all night.

Soon after I took this photo we were informed that there would be no eastbound Piccadilly line trains due to 'a fight in progress at Caledonian Road'. The man on the PA pointed out that this was "beyond our control".

infuriating cracker toys

I seem to get this ball thing in a cracker every year, but actually

the behemoth of the bakery

Ah, corporate gifts. This 10kg panettone arrived on Thursday - and
despite being a 24 hour operation (so always someone around to eat
it), there was still a fair chunk of it left this evening.The Quality Street tin is for scale, and also in a vauge attempt to
keep the bag closed.
