Postal Order

(viewed 1591 times)
I've never sent one of these before, but the eBay seller didn't take paypal (I already have twenty quid in my account), and said he'd ship straight away with a postal order.
What I didn't realise is that these things cost money! £2.19, in fact, going straight into the coffers of the post office. Bah!

Confused Sky box

(viewed 1095 times)
Our digibox broke recently - its tuner seems to have died - so I brought down a spare one I had in Glasgow that's broken in a different way - its viewing card slot doesn't work. (This way I could confirm that it was actually the tuner that was dead, and not our dish, and also watch at least some TV in the meantime).

But the 'new' one is a bit confused. It's not been plugged in for about two years, so it's missed out on a couple of software upgrades, and doesn't seem to be able to handle all the channels that there now are. It's put 3s in front of radio stations, instead of the 0s it should be, and the only way I can get to channels above 854 is if they were previously favourites.

Even with no viewing card in, it's defaulting to the Scottish variants of channels on 101-103. And when you go into the EPG, it stays on programme audio, rather than switching to the annoying background music.

I could reset it and force it to download the new software, but I quite like the novelty value for now...

Spotted on the same wall where I saw the incomplete elephant a couple of months ago.
