A male. Females look basically the same but their underparts are brown instead of bright orange. Sadly, I've never had the chance to shot a couple together. I wish they were more common around here, I absolutely love them!
An Audubon's Yellow-rumped warbler decided to go for a "dip" in one of our backyard pond's waterfalls. Lucky for me, we had been sitting nearby enjoying the evening.
This fellow was a new bird on my "life list" that night.
