Kids with guns

On the train the other day and watched this kid with a toy gun, I had
one as a child too and I loved it. However it just depressed me
seeing it, and then freaked me out when a toddler with an Uzi walked
past followed by a kid in full combat gear. Maybe I am becoming more
liberal in my older age but I just don't like it.

They seemed like a nice family but it just caught me at a poignant moment.

part of me really wants to be awwing at kids dressing up as soldiers/etc. especially with haloween coming up, but, a part of me really hasn't been able to do anything like that in a long time.

and, just yesterday, I read
... (basically a story about funded army visit to elementary school without letting parents know)

so, it's already something I've been thinking on too much. : \\
(should kids have to think about that stuff? they get exposed to it regardless. is it any different than dressing up as a cop/fireman etc?)

I just want to see more kids dressed like astronauts, that's all : D

Rather disturbing, really. But cool colours!

We weren't allowed toy guns. I can't remember whether I ever really wanted one. It is a bit weird. A truck would be more fun surely? Or a pony. A pink rubbery pony. Or a bear with a heart on his tummy.

You are such a girl! as a kid Guns are cool and desirable, in fact even as an adult they still hold a facination, which is a pretty darn good reason for me to never have one.
