Any snake ID experts?

I found this on the fence that surround the community bore in
Parnngurr coomunity, Great Sandy Desert or WA, Australia.

It's a pity the photo is from below, as most snake identification is done from above. It's hard to be 100% sure from the shot, but this seems to be Liasis perhtensis, a type of python that likes living in termite tunnels and feeding on geckos. The side markings are certainly consistent with it - sorry, no common name that I know of.

It's a beautiful shot.

Thanks very much for that. There are lots of termites around, and my own opinion is that its a python of some sort. Will remember to take topview shots in future
