welcome to the world of the damaged coccyx :) you'll be doing 540 mutes in no time....ace pics
lovely shot. I'd been getting "need to ski" pangs all this week. Better hurry up and book a holiday, I guess : )
snoooowwww!!! i want snow!!
Hmmm...we were talking about snowboarding this weekend. Was it much better / faster than skiing?
cool!
Snowboarding is amazing. I went to Andorra earlier this year and its great. I really though it was so much easier than everyone anticipates! I paid about £550odd for a week all inclusive including 4 days tuition! It was awesome. I can't wait to go again. I did really hurt my coccyx though when I whacked down from toe to heel. Oooof the pain. Laughing felt like giving birth really quickly, again, again and again.
Thanks for the highlight :o)
My coccyx seems to be fine ta; all the falling-on-your-arse moments were kinda controlled. This was my first ever time doing any kinda snowsport, and I was amazed how quickly you can pick it up. The advantage here is that these mountains are a 30 minute drive from downtown. Plus my season pass with hire and 5 lessons cost me around 170 quid.
Crickson> dunno; never tried skiing. Most of the snowboarders were zipping past the skiers though. The season goes on until April if you wanted an impromtu holiday!
Its a preference thing really, skiers have a bit more "control" and can therefore generally go faster, I can ski, but you'd never find me using sticks, the moment I got on a board I knew I'd never go back.
I always found snowboarding way faster than skiing, but then I'm an old-skool boarder...I like a long asymmetric board with rigid bindings and hard ski boots, and they are fast. I find I can't carve hard enough on these new boards, so if I am somewhere I have to hire, I go for skis. Snowboarding is way easier to learn than skiing, just more natural somehow, but stunts seem easier on skis though... YMMV
