Norway, Snow Hole

You might think this is cold, but its also bloody hard work. The digging keeps you warm and you take turns in pairs. The other bloke gets very cold very quickly and is kicking your feet to swap just as you've warmed up!

Build a huge mound of snow, bugger off for a few hours to let it all settle, then hollow it out, leaving it about 2 foot thick (give or take).

Above, we dug two tunnels in to speed things up, meeting in the middle.

Yeah deleted it. Was trying to be funny - on the home page a bloke had a picture of his watch with the title "WHERES JOHN!!" or something, so I sent one with mine saying "In The Pub!". Unfortunatley people were thinkinig that I was actually in the pub...

Snow-holes are great, as are igloos (when you have deep enough snow to excavate down) :)

Mm. You don't need the deep snow though. If its about a foot deep you can just pile it into a 6 foot dome, and leave it to settle over a couple of hours, then hollow it out. Good fun!!
