Dhamaka says:

wow - the theme?

teflon says:

That's pretty cool.

But I can't say I'm digging the Comic Sans around these parts...

Dhamaka> Not sure what the theme is actually. It was like that when my sis bought the house. I think just to be different, someone decided to wallpaper with newspapers from around the world, but the effect isn't bad.

Teflon> Yeah, just thought I'd fiddle with CSS a bit. I'll probably get bored and change it back soon. I rather like comic sans as a font though.

I call for a highlight on the top image. It's fabulous.

Apologies - the satelitte connection I'm on can be a bit flakey sometimes.

Dhamaka says:

But the call for a highlight could legitimately have been made 3 times anyway....

I'm not surprised she's kept it. It's certainly different..

Does the Boston Globe have and good cartoons? A Calvin and Hobbes perhaps?

I wonder if the designer person put any thought into the pages used from each paper or just picked the pages at random.

Cheers for all the comments :o)

Walkley; not sure about the comics in the Boston Globe; I think the comic page next to it is from a different newspaper. Plus I didn't pay too much attention to be honest.

I like to think that rather than collecting fridge magnets they collected newspapers and thought this was a good way to display them? Otherwise it seems too random for them to have paid any thought as to which papers were used.

Howdy RAB,

it is a bit odd when I see you coming on here just as I'm going to bed! It must be just after 4 for you whereas for me I really should be getting to bed!

Anyways, hope you are ok and 2006 is treating you well. I've still no news on the job front but there's a 6 week thing from the end of Jan that I'm hopeful about. Only 6 weeks but I'm hoping it will help lead to something permenant,

Back on topic.... collecting newspapers from places you went on holiday sounds like quite a good idea. Esp if something happened on the days that you bought the papers that you could look back on. So you could not just remember the holiday but something that happened then as well. Maybe I'll start doing that.
