I am married to Spiderbaby and live in Banbury, Oxfordshire after eight years living in the USA and Sweden. I am working and training as a clinical scientist for the NHS in Oxford.

There are now over ten years of photographs on my blog! It all started with a photograph I took on the 1st of May 2004... It's been a wonderful journey, thank you all who have shared it with me, and made this blogging community one I keep coming back to!

Interesting things I read recently:

"Only one in five people born [in the UK] since 1975 believes in God".
Source: Prof David Voas, University of Essex

"For every dollar invested in the Human Genome project, $141 was returned to the US economy". Francis Collins, NIH
Source: New Scientist 27 July 2013.

I am Pavlovs_dog on PSN and would be happy to link up with Playstation-owning mobloggers : )

Too Much Information: The first album I ever bought was the Fraggle Rock soundtrack. Pretty cool, eh? I was only 16 : )

Don't suppose i'll get as much out of it Steve does, but here it is.
Bought a Japanese import version as it was much cheaper, now
if only I can figure out how I'm going to charge up the battery with
a two-pin plug...

I'll tell you what this one is like when I get it charged up!

23rd Feb 2006, 19:17

Steve says:

Once it's charged you will not be disapointed!

Glad you went for the black much prettier.

How much was it? (if you don't mind me asking)

23rd Feb 2006, 19:26

crickson says:

It was £325 - but no memorycard. I bought a new 512 mb and I have a 64 mb knocking around in a drawer somewhere...

I ordered the case for it too - it was £400 in total.

If anyone posts a link to a website offering it cheaper, I'll hunt them down and kill them without mercy.

EDIT plus I have to buy an adaptor for the plug tomorrow - didn't think of that...

23rd Feb 2006, 19:38

Steve says:

Not a bad price at all! for a moment I thought you might say £200 and then I may have cried.

23rd Feb 2006, 19:57

crickson says:

Hahaha! Give it a few minutes and RAB will tells us what I could have got it for in Canada.

My friends in environmental sciences tell tales of biochemists putting contact laxatives on door handles.

With hilarious results.

crickson says:

I had coffee recently with a senior biochemist - he used to play 'pranks' like that in his youth. Strange sense of humor that lot.

Was it not uncle Ben who said "with great power comes great responsibility"

24th Feb 2006, 13:06

crickson says:

I promise to use my powers for good, not evil.

Unless evil includes gym membership.

24th Feb 2006, 13:13

Steve says:

24th Feb 2006, 13:36

Can you extend your gym membership powers down to me please Crickson?

24th Feb 2006, 17:16

*keeps quiet about how much they cost over here*

I've got just as many evil chemicals in my lab Crickson, so don't get any ideas.

Ahhh... Uncle Ben; he makes great quotes and microwavable rice.

*lobs bottle of phenol and runs away*
