I make things on the web, mobile and in the actual world.

I've done lots of bits and bobs over the years, and right now I'm mostly working on this.

I enjoy speaking about things I like, most recently this. You can email me if you'd like, and I'm on twitter.

I've been meaning to do that for the last week...are you digging it?

What's it like on data usage?

alfie says:

Really really impressed with it. It just lets me do absolutely everything I need in terms of browsing using optimised RSS, and then even lets me upload pics through it bypassing email/mms! Data usage is very low, there isnt a built in tracker although they're adding new features at a rate of knots.

looks interesting, so you have to add all your friends to view their pages? and you can't look at the homepage?

Still could be usefull

mat says:

I can't make it do anything other than display some RSS feeds in a random order, let alone upload stuff...

But apparantly it works.

You should be able to point it at the homepage using moblog.co.uk/rss.php with no arguments.

Steve says:

Not sure how to do that... when setting up a feed it wants a user name.

Just tried the client rather than my phone browser and it has locked up :( oh well early days yet

mat says:

Just use Opera Mini, it'll do everything mobileGlu can do and more.

24th Feb 2006, 11:26

Steve says:

I used to use Opera on my last phone but didn't bother putting it on the new 6680 as it had an ok default nokia browser.

Steve says:

My mistake I used opera mobile, the mini looks like it maybe useful for the 750i, thanks Mat

alfie says:

you just need to add moblogUK home page as an rss feed to track that, and then yes, add individual feeds for moblogs by username. For me, the really important feature of mobileglu is that it lets me upload pics without going through a laborious email or mms process. It essentially does what Shozu does.

At the moment you have to take the pic whilst in the app, but Justin is jigging it at the moment to look at the file system so you can upload whatever is in your image gallery.

mat says:

Weird. I can't make it work at all for uploads. Maybe I don't have the latest version.

Mind you, just sending email isn't really very hard work, especially compared to firing up the big slow JVM...

does the upload bit use my web to mail php script?

24th Feb 2006, 12:15

mat says:

24th Feb 2006, 12:29

Joe says:
