I have a room. It is midnight and I will leave soon to find a bar to write in. This picture reminds me of Vincent Gallo. I call it the Tiku look. By Paul

6th Apr 2006, 07:41

Good Morning!

Vincent Gallo? Yeah, quite a bit.
What are you doing in Berlin - alone?
One should have company when visiting Berlin. A lot more fun, guanranteed!
Suppose it's good for writing but not for ones soul. Berlin is a city in which one can feel lost easily. Walking the dark streets it seems to swallow up everything.
Hhhhmmm maybe I just don't really like it cause it's so big.
But get yourself some company nonetheless, ok? :)

6th Apr 2006, 09:04

anonymous says:

Not being funny, but does anyone actually know who Vincent Gallo is?! I do... mwah haha... ;)

Interesting comparison, Paul, interesting.

6th Apr 2006, 10:40

anonymous says:

Beautiful shot.

6th Apr 2006, 15:37

ooookay. is there something I don't know? He's an actor, right ("Arizona Dream" togehter with Johnny Depp - to name but one), director (two movies as far as I know..), painter, musician, he modelled for Calvin Klein...anything else?

6th Apr 2006, 16:34

clara says:

Paul, you should be an actor. You've got the charisma, the looks and the mystique. If it all goes wrong with Maximo,go into acting.

Watch yourself round the streets of Berlin, though.

6th Apr 2006, 17:44

anonymous says:

Ahem. Vincent Gallo has also appeared in numerous pornos, including titles as delightful as 'The Brown Bunny', 'Freeway II: Confessions of a Trickbaby'... need I continue.

6th Apr 2006, 17:57

clara says:

Hi, L.R. What is Berlin like? I've only ever seen it in the film "Cabaret".Tell me something about it.It doesn't sound a very friendly city,am I correct?

6th Apr 2006, 18:00

clara says:

Hello, anon. Tell us more about Vincent Gallo. Do you think Paul should be comparing himself to him?
I don't know anything about Vincent Gallo.

6th Apr 2006, 18:02

daz says:

Some people insist that Berlin is THE German city... I, personally, don't really like it, even though I like big cities a lot. Maybe it's the people, I dunno. In any case, I'm glad I live 450km away from B. :)

6th Apr 2006, 18:07

clara says:

My uncle went to live in Germany as I have German ancestry. He tried to "go back to his roots",but didn't like it out there. He lived in Hamburg for a while, and died out there a few years ago. It was very sad. I certainly wouldn't go to Berlin alone. It sounds a cold, unfeeling place.

6th Apr 2006, 18:12

That's right. Berlin is the capital of Germany.
I've relatives there. But I don't like it there either. Everything's way too anonymous. Surely something to do with the people. Everyone comes to Berlin like. Almost no one really belongs there. A lot of anonymity.
Standing alone in the middle of the night waiting for your bus is the worst.
There definitely friendlier cities here!
But when you gather some friends around you it's ok.

6th Apr 2006, 18:17

clara says:

It's none of my business, but I hope Paul takes care out there.

6th Apr 2006, 18:18

clara says:

That's interesting,L.R. Is it a safe city for someone alone? I wouldn't have thought so.

6th Apr 2006, 18:20

It's not that dangerous. It's just no one cares about you. When you want to be alone, defo a place to go..

6th Apr 2006, 18:20

I'd say it's a lot safer in Berlin when you're a man and not a woman when you find yourself alone there.

6th Apr 2006, 18:23

anonymous says:

Hello Clara, why don't you try googling Vincent Gallo? You will be able to find out as much as you need to know. And I am in no position to be judging whether Paul should be comparing himself with him. Are you?

6th Apr 2006, 18:25

clara says:

I beg your pardon?
I don't think that's a very polite comment anon. I didn't ask you whether you were in any position to be judging anything. I just have a concern for Paul, we all do on this blog.
Who are you,anyway?

6th Apr 2006, 18:34

Why's everyone so harsh when it comes to anonymous comments?
You really get a lot when you google him (maybe add "biography" as well).

Who says Paul compares himself to Vincent Gallo. He only said that this picture reminds him of him. Nothing more...

6th Apr 2006, 18:39

g says:

vincent gallo is way cooler

6th Apr 2006, 18:39

clara says:

Thank you,L.R. Paul's much better-looking than V.G. No other comparison.

6th Apr 2006, 18:43

anon says:

I don't care for Vincent Gallo's face. Paul's much more attractive.

6th Apr 2006, 18:47

Not everything's about a persons look..Gallo's a quite interesting character.

6th Apr 2006, 18:50

clara says:

What do you know about him,L.R.?

6th Apr 2006, 18:54

Only the things written in all those biographies, on his homepage and stuff.
I'd like to hear some of his thoughts, think it could be a very interesting night!

6th Apr 2006, 18:59

anyway iinm, vincent gallo is (or was?) also in a band?

6th Apr 2006, 19:04

go into a reacord shop and compare them ;) Matter of opinion though.

6th Apr 2006, 19:05

clara says:

I reckon there's no real comparison between the two, just a slight resemblance in Paul's photo.

6th Apr 2006, 19:06

clara says:

Really like Paul's beardy look though.

6th Apr 2006, 19:07

that was what I was on about (the comparison, not the beard). albeit none of us knows Paul good enough...maybe there're parallels. ;)
(haha this is getting bit too far eh?)

6th Apr 2006, 19:11

clara says:

Whoops,let's not go there,L.R.

6th Apr 2006, 19:16

clara says:

Have a nice weekend,L.R. Take care of yourself.

7th Apr 2006, 15:53

Rich says:

A) Vincent Gallo is a reet twart

B) Berlin is the perfect place for a young rockstar to go hang out. Am guessing LP2 will be full of tales of late night debauchery and crazy adventures auf den Reeperbahn... Unless that's amsterdam, I forget! Oh, and a twist of 21st century alienation and all that stuff too.
Paul'l be utterly fine and having the time of his life, almost certainly. Worry not about him young fanboys and fangirls.

C)Anonymous snippy comments will be monitored, but hey, this is the internet, it's powered by DRAMA so just learn to roll with the punches. They're the ones being anonymous, after all. And it's not like they called yo momma so fat, is it? Just reminded you of the power of Google!

Thank you,Rich, for reassuring us about monitoring dodgy anon.comments, and also about Paul's wellbeing.Perhaps he's planning to write his autobiog.and is researching for material for same. As for V.G. I totally agree wiwith you. He looks a bit of a prat.

It makes no difference, but like I said,I get suspicious when someone posts comments as anonymous. These days, they could be anyone.

hhm ok but ain#t anyone ere anyone? just cause someone types some kind of name.
whom would you reckon is sir ernest henry shackleton. it says nothing.
n clara doesn#t say more. could be you using it one day. could be someone else on another day.
only way to avoid this is getting registered. don't be superstitious abut others when it's not different with you.

11th Apr 2006, 17:27

Yes,I see what you mean.Is is possible to get on this blog without being registered, then? I thought everyone had to be?

11th Apr 2006, 17:34

clara says:

It's just that "anon" always sounds to me to be a bit suspicious. Maybe I'm being overly so. A different subject now, perhaps?

Thanks for clarifying that,Mat.

11th Apr 2006, 17:39

clara says:

I have to say again, this blog is so entertaining....Sir Ernest Henry Shackleton*creases up*

11th Apr 2006, 17:46

anonymous says:

I completely agree with what the anon just said. Anyone could come on here under any name and it would mean absolutely nothing. How are we to know that the same 'Clara' is posting all of the above posts? How are we to know that it isn't anyone? I need not rehearse any of the above points which I was contemplating posting earlier today but have now been beaten to the post. It just goes to show that anonymity sometimes does make more sense...

11th Apr 2006, 18:14

Rich says:

Well, i'm glad you're of an anonymous concord. Of course, it'd be more convincing if you weren't. ;)

11th Apr 2006, 18:19

12th Apr 2006, 16:44
