This is actually a different tree. The Bus Stop Magnolia is looking a bit anemic this year. I think the sudden frost we had last week has screwed up its flowering.
This one is in a more protected spot, weather wise, and seems to be doing better.

If we're to be technical, Bronx, NY. But yeah. Right across the street from my house, actually. The building behind it is an elementary school.

The magnolia family is very ancient with fossil remains dating between 36 and 58 million years ago.
