Got to go with Daz shiiiiite lol

28th Apr 2005, 16:31

VenusInFurs says:

Alfie, also, if you like slightly larger, and yet quieter dogs- the basenji is awesome breed.

Or get a poodle mix, cause cockapoo and jackapoo are just fun to say. They've done wacky breeding experiments that have created dogs for people like you.

Also, little dogs like Felix above = total chick magnet.

Kathy Perez(kathperez-at-sbcglobal-dot-net) says:

Hello!!! Are you people nuts? These dogs are mutts, period and pet stores are charging a ton of money for them. The only people who breed them are puppymill brokers. No reputable breeder would do such a thing. Wake up people! I see a broker has some for sale now! Go to a shelter or rescue to get a dog, Go to the website Get an education for Pete's sake!

bigbadbrutus says:

I have a jack russel terrieer and a poodle. I don't think i will be breeding these two. i agree with the one who said they are mutts. Definition of a mutt in my mind is two pure breads making un pure puppies. All puppies are cute but what will they look like when they are full grown? will they shed? like the jack? or will they have to be groomed like the poodle? Will they be hyper and crazy like the jack? or mellow like the poodale? I think accidents happen but I wouldn't go out of my way to breed such different breeds. This could be starting a new problem in the dog world.

30th Dec 2005, 18:01

dogliker says:

Are we nuts? No, just aware of what is really important in life, and reaIizing that dog purity isn't in that list. I. have a Jackapoo. I lkie him, I treat hime well, in enjoy him, but I never loose sight that he is a DOG. To critize people for getting a dog they like, and saying they are nuts and need to be educated causes me to consider your own question of you. Chill out, Kathy, for your own sake.

I still have jackapoos advertised on; varying in prices. Look under Jack Russell Terriers, then do a search for Kansas. They are Jackapoos A, B, C, D, E, & F. All raised in our home with their very calm Jack Russell mother, who is our house pet.

If anyone has some pics of full grown dogs could they post them or a website I can veiw them at?? hehe...the girl I want is black and looks like she's got more poodle in her at the moment but i've heard the fur/hair can change as they grow up?
Any help from anyone is greatly appreciated!

My jackapoo will be 3 in a couple of months. I didn't even know there was a name for what he was till a couple of days ago. I actually got him at the pound, fell in love with him instantly. His name is Mopar. Doesn't hardly shed, which is a good thing since I am allergic to everything. He isn't hyper, but plays if you want him too. I am constantly getting comments on how well behaved and likable he is.

aww soooo cute i wish my mom would let me get a puppy...she loves jack russels... : )

28th Jun 2006, 17:39

Derky says:

omg kathy, jackapoos are not puppymill dogs. :)
its so funny how you want people to be educated but don't even know that puppymill dogs are most likely to occour in purebreds because:
The are more wanted,
because breeders makes their dogs have litter after litter for show people. etcetc.

A cross breed is userly less problematic, has a better personallity, is healther etc etc.

i own a jackapoo, he is the sweetest, most trainible, fun dog i have ever owned or seen, and i will alway prefer poodle crosses to those handbag dogs you call "pure"

Sorry about the bad spelling :D

i have 2 jack russells and i seen a jack-a-poo i think they look cool.and who ever said they r mutts and just breeding them is dumb......well i have a replie to that when u mix 2 pure bred it mixes up ther genetic make up and it makes them have less problems less health problems and when u said bout they are hyper like a jack or mellow like a poodle.... like i said they mix up ther genetic make up it meakes them like a little less hyper which tht would be great cause they are very hyper at is about all i can say for now but later i will give mor compilments

Laura(obsessionofhorses-at-yahoo-dot-ie) says:

Hi Felix is soooo adorable! You lucky thing! I personality prefer cockapoo's! And can I say I was looking for a purebred dog not a "designer" one but I saw cockapoo's and I couldnt find one to come even close to as cute as they are! So I just want to make sure that everyone here likes all the crosses for there cuteness not just that they are the "latest trend"

29th Jul 2006, 09:56

Michael says:

I own one. He's a beautiful, sweet, wonderful *mutt*. He's not a purebred dog, I got him at a shelter for 100.00 adoption fee that included his neutering. People who aren't breeding to better a breed don't need to be breeding at all. If you're interested in this mix, get looking. There's lots of them out there. Especially as popular as poodle mixes have become. My local shelter's always drowning in them, and tons and tons get put to sleep.

I have a 6 month old jackapoo - he is the cutest thing ever. The only issue is he is very hyper and I a not sure what the heck to due. We play and walk ever day - does anyone suggest a playmate and if so what would be a good combo> Iwas thing cockapoo?

14th Sep 2006, 03:54

screenluvva says:

My Jackapoo has just turned 1, he is the most loyal, loving, funniest dog i've ever encountered, but i faced the dilemma about a playmate also, i work full time and find it very difficult to leave him, but have no choice, i contemplated a playmate but my breeder advised me that it may damage the bond and may make him even more mischevious than he alrady is - i decided to let him stay solo, he's fine nowdays and used to it.
