And I thought I'd go super-minimal with the help of ObjectDock.

I'm such a Mac wannabee :)

Spike says:

25th Apr 2006, 10:08

25th Apr 2006, 10:32

chris says:

oooh. can someone delete dupe comment? am on pda...

power buttons are PowerXP Konfabulator widget. as is clock in top right...

all rather spiffing.

25th Apr 2006, 10:59

Spike says:

where the devil do you get them from, its a pain in the ass having object dock but the standard windows taskbar to shut down too?

25th Apr 2006, 11:01

James says:

How reliable is objectdock now? I had it about a year ago and it kept crashing to the extent that I got rid of it because it pissed me off!

25th Apr 2006, 11:51

Spike says:

for me its not let me down as such, occasional slow'ness, but nothing more than windows normally gives!, i much prefer it to be honest!

the only issue i have is that the auto-hide occasionally doesnt work

25th Apr 2006, 11:54

James says:

Do you use widgets as well as objectdock? Just wondering how much ram it eats along with widgets running?

25th Apr 2006, 11:55

Spike says:

i dont, i believe chris is doing, it actually doesnt use that much ram, depending on the ram of your system,

25th Apr 2006, 12:05

Joe says:

konfabulator (yahoo! widget engine) has always been pretty good with system resources for me, if I was still using windows, I'd still use widgets, desktop widgets for gnome are'nt very good at the moment.

25th Apr 2006, 12:18

Spike says:

O no, wait, tell a lie, i AM using two widgets at the mo! and my laptop is running ok!

25th Apr 2006, 12:20

chris says:

Widgets and ObjectDock seem fine together to be honest, but I havejust reinstalled, so everything's running pretty darn quick.

The only thing I would say is ObjectDock doesn't show your system tray items unless you get the paid version...

26th Apr 2006, 17:50

hmm, thats the one thing i have an issue with too!
