This is my personal blog, not a venue for saleable images. In fact, because it's here that I share things that are important to me with the members of the moblog community, photo quality's not my priority. Events, occasions, achievements, thoughts, trips and experiments - you'll find them all here. Contact me for the development version of my photo portfolio, for a selection of saleable images or visit my dance photography blog or my website for cuttings. And remember that all photos remain my copyright unless I've specifically said otherwise.

"The grand show is enternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never dried all at once; a shower is forever falling; vapour is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls."

they bothered to interview me, because they've made
the whole piece up and it makes me sound like an idiot

but they did pay me...

daz says:

and, well, the pics are stunning!

EDIT: Oh god, they misspelled your name, too. :(

beth says:

3rd May 2006, 15:30

nige says:

paintist says:

rushes out to buy the stuff, if its recommended by Dhamaka its allright with me.....I'm a sucker for personal recommendation...and it was only four products.... (isnt there a group of pics in your blog somewhere of you having it all applied etc?)

3rd May 2006, 15:50

Dhamaka says:

Daz - thanks the compliment and for noticing. One good friend just told me it reflects the overall standard of their journalism (edit) however, since I want to write for them I couldn't possibly comment..

Thanks Beth and Nige *grins hugely*

paintist - it is NOT recommended by me. I didn't say ANY of that, and if you want personal recommendations I'll have to see your skin tone etc. The make-up artist was brilliant but she didn't use the cosmetics advertised.. (at least if she did I must have blinked or something). (too wound up about those words I'm supposed to have said to understand sarcasm today)

yes there are shots in my blog. Give me a few minutes and I'll give you a linkie.

3rd May 2006, 15:53

Dhamaka says:

thank you mfp. Believe me, there were better shots..

and the perspective is strange because of the shape the page took

3rd May 2006, 18:28

Twiglet says:

I agree with Joker. You look great, you got paid....and you really do look GREAT!

3rd May 2006, 18:36

Dhamaka says:

And believe me, I'm thrilled that they want me back. But.

(and if they had asked me to write the copy it would have been much more convincing)

3rd May 2006, 18:38

Gael says:

Very impressive! I re-joined my gym today, thanks for the inspiration : )
On the down-side, I have my assessment tomorrow at 8.15, which will be incredibly depressing

3rd May 2006, 20:15

kostika says:

Make-up artists are amazing, but I'm sure I've seen lovely pictures of you before.

3rd May 2006, 20:17

Dhamaka says:

thanks - and some of them even look like me, but seriously, if you have never seen me before and then only see these ones I'd be amazed if you didn't walk past me in the street

3rd May 2006, 20:20

kostika says:

That's what photoshoots with make-up artists are for I guess.

Might have to test this street walking theory :o)

3rd May 2006, 20:27

Dhamaka says:

be happy to oblige - provided we can share some sushi afterwards

3rd May 2006, 20:28

kostika says:

YAY!! Sushi for sure!

3rd May 2006, 20:30

Euphro says:

I understand the kind of post-analysis you are doing, but you do look wonderful in these shots and it's great that they want you back :)

3rd May 2006, 20:35

Dhamaka says:

It is, isn't it.

I'm really interested to see what prints they send me as that was also part of the agreement.

3rd May 2006, 20:38

kostika says:

Did they use Rimmel stuff at all?

Hmm..I should aint my nails again.

4th May 2006, 02:50

daz says:

I heart the Rimmel liquid black eye-liner. The little brush is perfect - I haven't found one like it in any other brand.

4th May 2006, 16:58

Dhamaka says:

will remember that Daz - your eyes always look so gorgeous (although it is with or without eye liner)

4th May 2006, 21:05

Izadora (NLI) says:

Now that you are good friends with Rimmel, ask them what the hell happened to my lipstick, number 581... they cancelled it, without notice :(((

6th May 2006, 18:17

Dhamaka says:

I'm beginning to come to terms with it Phoenix - and it's good to see you back.

They've asked for me to go back in the 3rd week of June and I've asked for a few guarantees (and the stills from the last one, which *still* haven't arrived) by email. Waiting to see what happens next...

12th May 2006, 14:30

Dhamaka says:

I think it's going to happen again. Did a questionnaire in Islington today about Germany. Could only answer 6 or 7 of the 10 or 12 questions (one doesn't matter because I don't care how many times Germany has won the world cup at football) but the journalist's face at the end of the questionnaire made me wonder ...

hopefully I'm wrong
