These are random moments in the life of an indecent designer and the city she loves.

To read my grudging babblings about design, click the button.

just not at the same time.

I am a female, carbon based lifeform.
I am a New York City Native.
I am a Design Professional.
I take photographs.
I also sculpt, paint, create mosaics, and play with weapons.

And sometimes, I even dance about Architecture.

What I see, is what you get.

Dhamaka says:

bronxelf says:

Dhamaka says:

6th May 2006, 09:37

bronxelf says:

Dhamaka says:

mat says:

the engineer in my head has been trying to figure these out since you posted pics earlier this week. I'm still not sure how they'll work, but I'm very interested...

What's the difference between an 'elevator' and an 'ellelator' ?

6th May 2006, 15:35

bronxelf says:

They work. f you want, I can show you in detail in a couple weeks. They're a cross between a monorail system. a roller coaster design and a hydraulic elevator. But they do work, so long as a) the building doesn't get any taller and b) the threading on the central pin stays consistent.

Ellelator is a Tiny Toons reference (that's why lusciousmango got right right off.)

See, third paragraph-- "baby plucky", right near the end of the paragraph.

"*I* push the button! "

6th May 2006, 15:41

mat says:

oh, I wasn't doubting they worked, I know you wouldn't design something that didn't actually work :)

I was just wondering by which method they worked.

I liked your video, btw. Haven't been very good at email last few days. :(

bronxelf says:

Sorry. hon. Someone got all :oh well there's practical problems" with me this morning, when I *do not* design things that don't work and I certainly don't put them in my projects.

There's a gnu version of that film coming. Richard needs to make 2 more editing corrections and it's done.
