I am just in the kitchen doodling with a fineliner. The light outside got too dark to continue drawing. Maybe I'll finish it some other time. Paul

Clara #2 says:

Now then, we've pestered you until you've posted some of your artwork, but I've been eagerly waiting the lastest diary entry for ages, I'm sure you'll all agree!!

Fantastic stuff mind, actually cannot wait until October finally comes around.

14th May 2006, 10:39

Now that you've got what you want you go over demanding a new diary entry? ;)

Give him some rest :)

erm, why "Carla #2"?

14th May 2006, 11:00

H says:

That's a doodle? What's wrong with the good old-fashioned stick man?

14th May 2006, 15:26

clara says:

Right,I'll sort this lot out.

1}The drawing's lovely,Paul. What a shame about the fading light.Thank you very much for posting it. Would love to see some more of your work on here.

2)Hello Bound: have you got the lurgy? Hope you soon feel OK.
And we're ALL rubbish at something.

3.)@Clara#2 No comparison with me,the genuine Clara. You don't really exist, you're just a figment of the imagination on here.

4.)Nichola, would you happen to know where the view is?

5.) I'm sure Paul will write a new diary entry when he has time.

Any more for any more??

14th May 2006, 15:30

@L.R. There's no Clara#2.Just Clara(moi.)

But why have I got "Edit" by the time on my previous 2 posts?

14th May 2006, 17:28

Because you can now edit your comments (for spelling, or to add something) - and you can post links, too. ;)

14th May 2006, 17:40

clara says:

Ah I see;thanks very much for telling me,Daz!

14th May 2006, 17:48

Bound(p_bound-at-hotmail-dot-com) says:

I'm better now Clara,(official Clara, not doppelganger Clara) since you ask. I sang plenty this afternoon though, so my throat is crappy now.

14th May 2006, 18:22

clara says:

Do you sing in a band,Bound? Or just singing? I'm a bit of a singer too.

14th May 2006, 18:43

Lynsey says:

Wow, fantastic work! Sigh. Wish I could draw or 'doodle' like that.

14th May 2006, 18:47

clara says:

I wonder if Paul's exhibited any of his work. If he hasn't already,he should.

14th May 2006, 18:50

Will we see the finished version then?

When I'm doodling with a fineliner or whatever it either looks like a bomb has just exploded on the sheet or it's crowded with a thousand words..more likely the latter, I gave up on the drawing bit ages ago..

14th May 2006, 19:02

clara says:

Yes,Paul-will we see the sketch when you've finished it,please?(the view looks a bit like Italy).

14th May 2006, 19:05

Bound(p_bound-at-hotmail-dot-com) says:

Oooh, you sing too Clara? What sort of stuff? One of the main reasons I'm so in love with ver Park is because seeing them in February made me want to do more band stuff, and work even harder. And Paul's stage manner is inspirational to me! X

14th May 2006, 20:16

clara says:

Yes,I sing in the bath.....No seriously,I've been told I have a voice,I would love to sing more professionally, but haven't yet had an opportunity to do so.I would love to sing like Debbie Harry(just a dream?)My gran was a semi-professional singer, she should have taken it further, but didn't do so.
Yes,Paul's inspirational to alot of people,he's a very talented person.

15th May 2006, 10:44

Cheers :)

15th May 2006, 11:25

anonymous says:

Clara, why did you tell me to s-d off? You just wanted to someone to bloody well check if your name was lit up, so I did and it wasn't! You don't have to be so goddamn rude, talking like you own the place!

Ok, done.

Although you must be the fake one, aye? ;) ha

15th May 2006, 12:32

clara says:

Thanks very L.R. and Sean for the advice. I'm going out now and will check on the Login again later.

daz says:

Clara. Look at the little "login" link above the Maximo Park logo. CLICK IT. Enter your username and password. And voilá!! You're logged in and your name will "light up".

edit: Oh, you tried that. Wonder why it's not working.

15th May 2006, 18:12

mat says:

The most likely explanation is that Clara has 'cookies' turned off in her browser. I can't think of anything else that might cause this problem.

Clara - do you have a nearby tame computer person you can ask to check your web browser's settings and allow cookies from

15th May 2006, 18:17

clara says:

Settings have been checked and are OK.No cookies turned off.

15th May 2006, 18:51

mat says:

OK, so it's working for me, and nobody else is having a problem logging in either, which suggests it's a problem on Clara's computer. Ah, computers, dontcha just love them..

Clara - have you tried rebooting your computer and trying again? That should clear out any old data that might be causing a problem.

15th May 2006, 18:52

clara says:

Have rebooted,Mat,and logged in.

15th May 2006, 19:06

What's a flux capacitor,Bound?
Sounds rather scientific. Thanks bmal, for explaining about "edit".
And I don't know anything about Gravenhurst,L.R. Are they known in this country?

16th May 2006, 14:52

flux capacitor is what makes time travel posible!

16th May 2006, 15:00

They're on Warp (I join Paul here, GOD BLESS WARP) as well and as far as I know from Bristol.
They were/are supporting B&S; in Germany at the moment. A friend went to see them and said they're great.
I wanted to see them a while back but due to a massive lack of money I couldn't go..
It's just perfect that they're coming with the Park!

16th May 2006, 15:01

clara says:

Thanks bmal!
October's not that far off, Bound.
Although sometimes it feels like it is.

16th May 2006, 15:03

clara says:

I hope they support Maximo in the autumn, then. I don't know about B&B; either.

16th May 2006, 15:05

Yes well,Nerea, the man couldn't see-the light was fading.

16th May 2006, 17:10

You have to look closely at it-it's a view out of a window.

16th May 2006, 17:33

anonymous says:

is it the concrete jungle of newcastle?!

16th May 2006, 18:11

clara says:

It looks like all different types of buildings,a bit of a mixed bag.
Perhaps that's Newcastle Uni on the right of the sketch?

16th May 2006, 18:13

clara says:

I've visited Newcastle,it IS a bit of a mixed bag of buildings,if I remember.
I liked the area near Gray's Monument.

16th May 2006, 18:14

Bound(p_bound-at-hotmail-dot-com) says:

Well, I am now officially no longer an anime obsessive, but a new-indie (nindie) devotee. (All types of music must be labelled for the convenience of stupid journos)
Yes, I missed five mins of top-notch anime Full Metal Alchemist just to hear Paul-San's dulcet tones on Zane Lowe. 'Twas worth it though, Smith is such a sweetie...

16th May 2006, 21:32

Bound(p_bound-at-hotmail-dot-com) says:

More notably, I listened to Zane Lowe without putting a hammer through the radio. Although, I did get bored and took photos in the garden for a bit. I will comment to myself til someone tells me to shut the chuff up...

16th May 2006, 21:34

Desiree says:

Clara, haven't you ever seen Back To the Future? The time flux capacitor is what makes the De Lorean travel through time. Yeah, I'm a nerd.

I *heart* Back To The Future. :)

16th May 2006, 21:47

Bound(p_bound-at-hotmail-dot-com) says:

Desiree and Daz - big up the nerds! Nerditude is something we should all aspire to, I was just born with it :D
Mat- No! I haven't even seen all the bloody series! I'm still mourning Maes... He was my number one hero. Apart from Paul, obviously. Will see the movie soon I hope...

17th May 2006, 07:49

Bound(p_bound-at-hotmail-dot-com) says:

Did anyone else listen to Paul on Zane Lowe? He was still looking out of his kitchen window... I'm worried someone has glued him to his kitchen table or something. I must stop posting twice each time I post...

17th May 2006, 07:51

Just read about that..
it was a bit confusing though (syntax etc..).
What I could make out of it is this:
17 new songs so far.
A new single in september.
The album due to the beginning of next year.

Sounds more than promising to me

Jesus I am german and complaining when someone screws up the britsh syntax..I'm sure I'm not perfect with this either, but it was really hard to read.
It could as well have been 17 albums in sepember..

17th May 2006, 10:10

Bound(p_bound-at-hotmail-dot-com) says:

Where did you read it? Me so stoopid, I don't understand about syntax, but yeah, that was the jist of it. Only he sort of said maybe there will or maybe there won't be a downloadable single in September. Ohh he's such a tease...

17th May 2006, 13:42

read that in a forum..downloadable? *sighs*
What's all this digital shite about? I mean, yeah I do have an Ipod, but actually for the only purpose of not carrying all my cd's around. Some of the older ones look like I've treated them very badly.

I'd defo prefer a proper disc.
He said nothing about it going to be A Fortnights Time did he?

17th May 2006, 13:54

clara says:

Hello all. I missed Paul on Zane Lowe!!When was he on,please, and will it be repeated?
@Bound:Was he interviewed in his kitchen then?or am I being dense?
@Desiree:No I've not seen "Back To The Future".

17th May 2006, 14:30

clara says:

Can someone explain when Paul was on/is going to be on Zane Lowe and was it/is it on Radio 1?

17th May 2006, 15:23

clara says:

@Bound:perhaps Paul was doing some more kitchen window view sketches,if you think he was being interviewed in the kitchen!!

17th May 2006, 15:40

anonymous says:

pf, or he was just cooking whilst talking to zane on the phone.

17th May 2006, 16:18

clara says:

Yes,bacon and eggs,perhaps

17th May 2006, 16:36

anonymous says:

or he was cleaning it or he had just stepped out of he shower weaering onyl a towel round his waist givin the people outside a little peep show who the fuck cares what he was doing?

17th May 2006, 16:42

anonymous says:

n he was apparently giving an interview that should be all that interests you

17th May 2006, 16:42

I think t'was yesterday Clara. check the radio one page, I believe you can still stream it. Would have done it myself but it doesn't start. *shrugs*

Wow, look what I missed... Sorry I wasn't around to help clara but luckily the power of the moblog Overmind is powerful. Welcome to all our new members!

17th May 2006, 23:41

clara says:

Morning all! Thanks Rich!Today's another day.

18th May 2006, 09:56

clara says:

Going back to the subject of films(yesterday)- I thought "Finding Nemo" was terrific.

18th May 2006, 10:02

"Elizabethtown" is one of the best movies made in recent days..and much better than "Garden State" which is good but far from outstanding.

And "Schiller" (you know him, the playwright - the movie was a german production to his 200th anniversary, of his death of course) was freaking good!

18th May 2006, 15:22

heArtbeAt says:

I saw a not so recent movie about a month ago which is called "I Love Your Work". It's pretty confusing, but I loved it, twas brilliant.

18th May 2006, 16:11

clara says:

Refresh my memory L.R., about Schiller.
What did he write?

18th May 2006, 18:04

clara says:

And what is "I Love Your Work"about,Heartbeat? Is it about art?

18th May 2006, 18:10

Bound(p_bound-at-hotmail-dot-com) says:

Is Elizabeth town really better than Garden State, LR? I loved Garden State muchly. I always forget what films I like when someone asks, in the same way as I used to immediately forget what music I liked when I walked into a record store. Hana Bi is probably my fav film.

18th May 2006, 18:49

Bound(p_bound-at-hotmail-dot-com) says:

By the way, have I missed Clara again? I keep clocking in as she clocks out...

18th May 2006, 18:50

@ Clara:
"Ode To Joy" .."Wilhelm ('William' in the english version) Tell".."Maria Stuart".."The Robbers".."The Maid Of Orleans".."The Bell"..think these are the most popular ones.

and he translated "Macbeth" into german (good guy!) ;)

18th May 2006, 18:51

I do think it's the better one ..'n there's no one I know who thinks the opposite.
But it's a matter of opinion anyways.

18th May 2006, 18:56

clara says:

Thanks very much,L.R.Yes,some of those titles ring a bell.
@Bound. Hi!We keep missing each other. Remind me,what night was Paul on Zane Lowe? Was it Monday or Tuesday this week? I'm trying to access it on the Radio 1 player online.

18th May 2006, 19:17

Bound(p_bound-at-hotmail-dot-com) says:

Yo Clara! We are like ships in the night...(I'm feeling extra strange today) He was on on Tuesday night, about an hour and a half into the show, and teased with promises of new material, as discussed above. How are you by the way?

18th May 2006, 19:21

clara says:

I'm fine,Bound! Thanks for the info.Yes,I'm OK.It would be good to see Paul's finished sketch on here,do you agree?

18th May 2006, 19:38

Bound(p_bound-at-hotmail-dot-com) says:

Darn straight. I wonder, did he actually study art at uni or something? Did he even go to uni? But, yes, he's a talented scribbler.

18th May 2006, 19:42

clara says:

I read somewhere he went to art college and uni. Are you hoping to make a career out of your art? You've got talent, but it's quite a hard way to make a living.

18th May 2006, 19:46

Bound(p_bound-at-hotmail-dot-com) says:
