Onto a bigger truck

Oh dear, I had thought "Recovered" in the previous pic meant "fixed". Little semantic confusion, there. Have they any idea what the problem is? And more important - do you have lemon laws there that will require the seller to fix the problem?

Dhamaka says:

what was wrong? Is it fixed? Is it under warranty? Did it destroy your weekend?

I'm really sorry

It is under warranty and it completely wrecked our plans for today. It's some fuel supply-related problem. It suddenly lost power on the A11 on the way back from picking it up at the garage. We'd only driven about 20 miles in the thing.

..but at least you're all OK Euphro, that's the most important thing.

We are all fine and were incredibly lucky where we ended up stopping (I managed to coast into in the disused gate entrance to Elveden estate). The garage are coming tomorrow morning at 10.30, either to fix it, or to take it away to be fixed. They will leave a replacement car if they have to do that :)

Maybe you'll get a bit of luck Euphro, like my dad - his new-ish Subaru wagon had a problem this week and they gave him a brand new Legacy sport sedan to drive for the week while they straightened it out. It has the new clutchless manual transmission thingy and high-performance engine. He was on the highway going to work and realized he was doing 145 KPH in a 80 KPH zone...oops :-). He was in love....but the wagon is only a year old so they need to get at least a few more years off it before they trade it in!

Damn, sorry to hear that. What an eventful weekend you had!

Better to discover these things while under warranty, though...

Oh dear, poor you lot :(

Hope you managed to still have a fairly good day... and the kids got to see a big truck with flashing lights!

Oh ekky thump!

gah, how frustrating. Bet the kids enjoyed the recovery truck ride though..

If I had a pound for every time I've been recovered onto the back of a truck on the A11, I'd have at least five or six pounds now.

Euphro says:

Thanks for all the supportive comments. The kids did enjoy the recovery truck, although they fell asleep straight away in the first one and didn't even notice me moving them to the second one :D

have they fixed it swapped it with a standin yet?

15th May 2006, 15:45

Euphro says:

Not yet :( It's been a very frustrating day of 'phone calls and dead ends. The car is still sitting on the road opposite some of our neighbours. The problem is mainly that it is undriveable and needs to be recovered to a garage.
