well it grows in the wild here. of course it is entirely possible that all of these plants are just descendants from some past homesteaders garden. but i've been finding them mostly in ditches...
far from any old houses or gardens.
so who knows...

yes, we've been fitting it into all of our meals this week...
of course there is always the risk of burn out.
i remember as a child getting really sick of asparagus after a couple weeks.
but it is seasonal, so for now it's a nice luxury...something to look forward to next spring.
one thing i've been looking for, and not found down here is the mysterious morel. they were plentiful in our previous hometown. but they don't seem to grow here on the prairie.
i'll just have to keep looking..
