Name my Cat game.

Help me to decide on a name for my cat. Her given name is Sagrifte, and I just can't pronounce that.
And it sounds ridiculous when I want to call her to come inside. I just can't decide, help me.

Some names I like:

Igor
Cuddy
Cheery Littlebottom
Angua
Carrot
Nobby as in Nobby Nobbs
Binky
Ponder as in Ponder Stibbons
Dibbler as in Cut-Me-Own-Throat Dibbler
Gaspode
Miss Tick
Hamish
Pringels

And

Not-As-Big-As-Medium-Sized-Jock-But-Bigger-than-Wee-Jock-Jock

Any other names are more then welcome.

24th May 2006, 10:38

Why is a nice name, and would be a nice view for the neighbours, should you run in the street crying out "WHY! WHY?" for your cat to come ;))

But a lot depends on the character of the cat....

24th May 2006, 11:04

magma says:

yeap, peanut is a good name too. And if she breaks something or rip the curtains etc etc, you could say (in a very disappointed way): Oh! NUTS! ;)

24th May 2006, 11:10

Dhamaka says:

If you're going Pratchett, Greeble is a tom cat so call her Greebla

or if you want to name her after a dog, since Gaspode is a male dog, call her Gaspodia

You could call her slimpy - either because she isn't or because she is..

(edit) She doesn't have the 'attributes' of Angua and isn't a pedigree anyway, and she's not carrot shaped or a king, so that rules out Carrot, I guess you could call her littlebottom as that would be an interesting thing for the neighbours to hear, but can you imagine her in lipstic and iron boots?

(edit) and do you seriously want to call her after a character that needs to carry a certificate to prove he's human?

24th May 2006, 11:17

puddlepuff says:

How bout Purdy?

24th May 2006, 11:30

Dhamaka says:

at least the cat wouldn't be embarassed with a name like that

24th May 2006, 11:31

Dhamaka says:

24th May 2006, 11:34

puddlepuff says:

24th May 2006, 11:45

alfie says:

Spap
Mink
Caterpillar
sanchez

at least, you know, If *I* had a cat it'd probably be one of those...or peanut.

24th May 2006, 11:46

24th May 2006, 16:49

Rhys says:

Mando?

24th May 2006, 16:51

puddlepuff says:

Ok, my cat is going metal now of me calling her with all the names on the list.

The names that actually make her head turn are are the names with the "Y" sound innit.

Peanut, Miffy, Slimmy and Stimpy do seem to work with her.
