Went to see the Fooo Fighters acoustic show at the Apollo Victoria last night. The show was wicked, Mr Grohl was in fine form as ever and the band were great. Really enjoyed the stuff off In Your Honour, and some of the old stuff was awesome - my favourite being 'February Stars' into 'Times Like These' - pure class!
A post-Download Festival James Hetfield was there, Grohl said he 'met a hero of his tonight' and dedicated 'Everlong' to him, before pointing out it was a love song...and maybe that was a bit weird dedicating it to the singer of Metallica!
Setlist was...
Razor (Dave solo then band joined in)
Still
On The Mend
Walking After You
Over And Out
Next Year
Another Round
Ain't It The Life
See You
Floaty (Sung by Petra Haden)
Virginia Moon (W/Petra Haden on vocals and Joe BB (guitar tech) on lead
guitar)
Cold Day In The Sun (Taylor on drums/lead vocals)
Miracle
February Stars
Times Like These
--------------------------------
Friend Of A Friend (Dave solo)
Best Of You (Dave solo - crowd singing 'woahs')
Everlong (Dave solo then band joined into end)
Oh and former Foo Fighter Pat Smear was also back in the band as an extra guitarist and got the longest applause out of all the band members when Dave introduced them!
