she looks so much like a cat i had...we called her pebbles, and she had the worst breath............
andyes she is huge...like she has been b;own up like a baloon....is she yours?
Paintist; Yeah - they seem to stick at a certain size then suddenly this happens & you know Her Time is Nigh... :)
She's not mine, she belongs to a neighbour. The neighbour is ill & often hospitalised. Eliza has, over the years, adopted my house as her secondary residence & she's v welcome. Just a bit worried she may be planning on having the kittens here... haven't seen her owner for a couple of days...
Kozika; Papa? We think it was Stinky Tom - a big black & white cat who never stops singing. Arnold is a responsible, neutered cat who has fathered no kittens during the 11 years he has been in our family. :)
Also - happy to report that Eliza's breath fresh as a daisy - I put it down to their Scientific kibble... :)
No! Stop it, Evil Temptress! My plan is to whisk the lot to our local shelter as soon as they're weaned. Takes home-finding hassle off Neighbour & the kittens will be neutered & vaccinated. Hope to get Eliza spayed at the same time...
she is a pretty cat, the kittens wii find homes easily.....its so easy to be seduced by Kitten-ness.....
I'm glad you are there to look out for her when her owner cannot, hildegard. She's a lovely girl. I'm sure the shelter will have no trouble finding homes for the wee ones :-)
She's gorgeous but mad as a brush & violent as hell. Your average tortoiseshell... but we lurve her... once the wounds have healed...
She's a tiny cat so I'm hoping that's just a couple of well-grown kittens in there... Although I'm told that she has produced a litter of 7 in the past... eek...
Our mamacat, Sinister is super tiny - as a healthy adult, she weighs five pounds. She popped a litter of 5.
She's a beauty and I think it's wonderful that you're planning on taking care of the lot when the neighbors have not been so responsible in the spaying department.
Eroika - feel need to defend my neighbour, I'm concerned that I've made her seem careless, which would be unfair.
Neighbour loves the cat to distraction but she's in & out of hospital, socially isolated, there's no care plan for her, no support beyond a weekly health checkup. In addition, her meds give rise to confusion. Under the circs, she tries terribly hard to be responsible & does do her best for Eliza. Organising a spaying isn't easy - you need to be able to keep the appointment for a start.
For all the people whose desk her file crosses, for all the organisations of whom she is an alleged client or patient (read; "funding stream") it's too hard - favourite weasel word; "innappropriate" for someone to help her to get her bloody cat to the vet. The only "help" she has ever been offered was, when hospitalised, a nurse offered to "Get the shelter to pick it up." This despite all the research on the health benefits of companion animals, never mind anything else...
I've been saying this a lot lately, but... Gah!
I found a stray cat who looked just like that back in April. We had her for only a couple of weeks and she had gotten pregnant already. A few weeks after that, she was about the same size as your cat there, and she started acting strange. We took her to the vet and she later passed away. The vet said she was pregnant with about five kittens.
