Welcome to the official Moblog for Maximo Park - the Maximoblog.

This is where the band post photos of whatever takes their fancy that they think might be of interest to the wider public, from the mundane (backstage) to the spectacular (Archis' hair).

But they are not the only ones, as this Maximoblog is open to you!

Anyone who wants to send in a photo, whatever they feel relevant, we would love to see. The more the merrier, the more creative the better.

it was just wonderful! they were headlining a small festival called The Music In My Head in The Hague. We got there early and first saw an intimate performance by Ed Harcourt. He was still drunk from 'breakdancing all night long' at his local pub the night before, since he finished his UK tour. After that we went to the big room where John Cale was playing. Ok, he was in a legendary band once, but I wasn't really impressed by his show. All the people in front of the stage could have been my parents (noone younger than 45), and they all went to the back as soon as Cale had finished. We got ourselves a nice spot right at the front, in between Paul and Lukas.

And the Park were simply amazing. It was my fourth Maximo show, but for the first time I got the idea that the crowd in the front knew all the lyrics too. I mean, at the first gigs here in the Netherlands you had a lot of people who just came to check out this new band. In The Hague I felt these people standing near me were actually 'fans' too! It wasn't too crowded so we could jump around without getting crushed and I can honestly say I had never screamed so much in my life! :) The band were overwhelmed by the enthousiasm of the crowd as well (I saw some pics of Paul on this blog where he said they felt really happy after this show).
The setlist: graffiti/postcard/coast/monument/limassol/i want you to stay/signal/wasteland/fortnights/shop/a19/glimpse/head/pressure/kiss you better /going missing

they sure went to 11!

Wow, thanks for the info, Kevin. I love that Monument and Fortnights are becoming mainstays of the set at the moment. The gig sounds like it was truly amazing, and the pics are awesome too. X

Thanks very much Kevin, for that description of the show. It's good to hear how well-received the Park have been in the Netherlands and Germany, etc. Interested to read you weren't very impressed by John Cale. Goes to show that Maximo are are fast becoming the band of the
21st century. And thanks for posting the setlist too!Sounds like a wonderful night.

wow so many pics since my last visit here..

Ed Harcourt you say? Did you like him? I saw him in may. He had only a female violinist with him and about half of the set list consisted of his new album.
It was so fantastic!
