Someone I was working with, a Ukranian colleague, taught me of that word for bucks.
In Bulgaria we say, kinti.
hihi - we in Poland have another (rather german) word - "shmal" = babki
hmm... "shmal" means hashish here
that's entertaining, educating.
but in PL "babki" means "girls", with meaning "whores" ;)
"babka" means "old lady".
Old russian paper money had the portrait of Catherine II printed on them. She wasn't young, hence money = babki
similar in polish "babcia" = old lady (like a babushka in ru), but you can also say - "fajna babka" means - "girl is cool"
well everything depends on context...;)
