This is my personal blog, not a venue for saleable images. In fact, because it's here that I share things that are important to me with the members of the moblog community, photo quality's not my priority. Events, occasions, achievements, thoughts, trips and experiments - you'll find them all here. Contact me for the development version of my photo portfolio, for a selection of saleable images or visit my dance photography blog or my website for cuttings. And remember that all photos remain my copyright unless I've specifically said otherwise.

Are there any mobloggers out there in Sofia or any of the places on this route?

I'm probably cycling there in a couple of weeks time and if you are around it would be great to meet courtesy of Eurobike

My geography's not as good as it should be. Is that relatively close to Gabrovo?

kristiyan says:

Yes, I'm from Bulgaria. Varna is on the coast of Black Sea - the most Eastern side of our country. Here is a map of Bulgaria, with traceroute and zoom, so you can get an idea.
I'm far from Sofia and even Plovdiv, but would enjoy to greet you, though. :)

Thank you so much for responding!

Wow - you're a long way from my route aren't you! I will send you my schedule and maybe there will be a place that is not too difficult for you to get to.

Do you have any information on adventure sports in or around Varna? If I can find something more to write about (and get a commission in time) maybe I'll be able to get closer and it'll be easier for us to meet.

Of course I reply, I'm alive and here. :)

: Yes, 500 kilometers from Sofia.

After a research, I've found out that aside from bunjee and base jumping, Yacht adventures by sea, and flight cruising, there is a "Monkey Park"( that offers some Tarzan-like adventures as well as routes for trecking and biking. If its in your publisher's criteria, let me know I'll see for a reservation.

Dhamaka says:

oh wow - Thank you!!

No reservation please, if I get the commission we can make them then. I'll check out the Monkey Park stuff - and will ask you if I can't find something. That's very different - with some work I hope I'll be able to place it somewhere. I might even get 2 articles out of it if there's good Single Track.

Base jumping I'd love to do but I've looked into it and it needs so much training and preparation that it's not commercially feasible.

What's flight cruising?

The way it normally works is that I send the editor a proposal and either they say yes or they don't bother to answer. Sometimes they say yes a year later, but we can cross that bridge if and when we come to it.

You have a good job, Dhamaka :)

Flight cruising is flying and sightseeing with an airplane, the company offering it is located some 160 km from Varna.

The monkey-park thingy is about walking on ropes stretched over a park - safety provided.

I don't know about seeing each other with the flight cruise, but anyways I'm glad to help.

Dhamaka says:

I don't think I'd be able to sell the flight cruise anyway. I'll try for the others and let you know.

and yes, when things are going well and the commissions are coming in I think it's the best job in the world (for me of course)

(edit) thinking about it, when things aren't going well and the commissions aren't coming in I still think that

Kristiyan - I'm posting this here because there is no contact user option on your blog. If you feel able, please contact me through my contact user option. I have found a flight and will extend my stay, probably to Gabrovo but maybe Varna too..

Hope to hear from
