"who is number one?"
"You are number six"
is there a comma after "You are ...... all very confusing ......

There aren't enough prisoner references on Moblog.

Euphro says:

Is "capture" (with regard to images) a British phrase. I had no idea :D

2nd Aug 2006, 17:07

mat says:

Lots of continental Europe use the wonderful phrase to "make" a picture.

I love that. It has such a different sentiment to "taking" a picture.

2nd Aug 2006, 17:12

'making' pictures is what we were trained to do at uni, and as such, i hate the term.

s'funny though, i do like the idea, but i just don't like seeing it written down

2nd Aug 2006, 17:13

Euphro says:

That's certainly true in Spanish. It's nice. It implies a much more active role the process, which is closer to the reality :D

2nd Aug 2006, 17:14

well you could class different types of photography as 'making' 'taking' or 'capturing' if you see what i mean! artistic photos would be making planning and all that , happy snaps could be capture or taking. or am i wrong?

2nd Aug 2006, 17:21

thats very true.

2nd Aug 2006, 17:23

Euphro says:

Well put! There is obviously a whole spectrum from the planned studio shot to the UFO you spot days later in the corner of your holiday snap :D

paintist says:
