I just found these while looking for something else entirely, and instantly got taken back to 1988, when most of these are from. There some v cool stuff in that biscuit tin - more investigation (and photography) required!

Fantastic! I used to have a "I'm a supersaver!" badge as well - and a "Glasgow's Miles Better!" one too...

My dad used to work for Radio Clyde as well...

In all, a tiptop retro colection :D

Somewhat hard to ask this without sounding silly, but.. who's your daddy?

seaneeboy says:

Aye, Very good.

Paul Murricane. He was the first person to speak on Radio Clyde cos he was a newsreader...

Not as much as his bafta nomination, but I'll save those stories in case i'm at a party with you all and need to earn bonus points ;)

I've got a good story involving a Bafta too. But again, that's best to wait until a party..

There's a lot of 'first people to speak on Radio Clyde'.. I was always under the impression that it was that minister, then Tony Currie.

Definately was my dad - I've been in the Radio clyde studio archives, and heard the tape of it, archive tape #1 :)

I think he was the first after the news and sport was done though.

it's all pretty academic anyhow, but http://mcms-delivery.virtuebroadcasting.com/delivermedia.asp?id=578593e0-0299-40cd-9564-f5c8a42ff6fa might suggest otherwise. but that funky news jingle more than makes up for any dispute :)

(i guess it's possible that he did the news on a test transmission before the actual launch)

Ooh, will have to have a listen when I get home :)

And I'll have to get some more of these badges online.
And do some studying! yes, that's what I was meant to be doing today, I'm sure...
