"Clandestines" in Calais

Yesterday on the aproach to Calais docks, there must have been 12 to 15 of these guys "Hiding" in the bushes on either side of the road.
The security in the docks had been stepped up, which caused a back up of traffic outside the gates, just what these fellers need, they climb in/on/under the trucks when they stop.
The consequences of getting one or more of them amongst your load are huge!
No chance of the French police/imigration actually going outside the gates and arresting them, or even moving them on. They would be quite happy to see them make it across to the UK, one less problem for them.

I think it's otrageous that it's the truck drivers responsibility to stop stow aways, what the hell are customs there for?

Hm. Police aux frontiers.. don't get me started... Sometimes it seems the PaF must to be some sort of supported work scheme for the bewildered...
As to fining drivers - just shows how piteously far from understanding this problem the UK's lords & masters remain...

I guess this situation should not be surprising, but it is. Your photos, the description of the measures taken to stop them, their desperation, all adds up to an awful experience for everyone.
