This is my personal blog, not a venue for saleable images. In fact, because it's here that I share things that are important to me with the members of the moblog community, photo quality's not my priority. Events, occasions, achievements, thoughts, trips and experiments - you'll find them all here. Contact me for the development version of my photo portfolio, for a selection of saleable images or visit my dance photography blog or my website for cuttings. And remember that all photos remain my copyright unless I've specifically said otherwise.

"Never to get lost is not to live, not to know how to get lost brings you to destruction, and somewhere in the terra incognita in between lies a life of discovery."
........ Rebecca Solnit

"Give, give, give -- what is the point of having experience, knowledge or talent if I don't give it away? Of having stories if I don't tell them to others? Of having wealth if I don't share it? I don't intend to be cremated with any of it! It is in giving that I connect with others, with the world and with the divine."

........ Ernest Hemingway

"Ambition leads me not only father than any other man has been before me, but as far as I think it is possible for man to go."
........ James Cook

"The grand show is enternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never dried all at once; a shower is forever falling; vapour is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls."
........ John Muir

"The bicycle is the most civilised conveyance known to man. Other forms of transport grow daily more nightmarish. Only the bicycle remains pure in heart."
........ Iris Murdoch

"Photography for me is not looking, it's feeling. If you can't feel what you're looking at, then you're never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your picture...."
........ Don McCullin

Caine says:

Your weekend sounded beyond fabulous. I love these shots, especially the top one - that's ace. Misha looks just like my Sinister, including the size.

12th Sep 2006, 11:46

hildegard says:

She looks so sleekly black against the enamel...

12th Sep 2006, 11:47

Viv says:

she wanted some running water to drink from - it's obvious Nige!

12th Sep 2006, 11:48

Geodyne says:

Hee, love these shots.

You're welcome - it was great to have you (er, staying in my house, before anyone deliberately miscontrues that) - as usual!

12th Sep 2006, 11:51

walla_walla says:

Great shots!..... dont't tell me that she's one of those cats that drinks from the tub..... Nino would only drink water from the tap in the bath tub.

12th Sep 2006, 11:53

Dhamaka says:

She did indeed Viv, although she's fascinated by the bath and likes leaving muddy paw marks all over it just before guests visit

Walla_Walla, when she was a kitten she would only drink running water but now she drinks when she wants

Geo - it actually feels strange to say thank you, almost as if I'm supposed to be staying with you and not living here..

12th Sep 2006, 12:00

Dhamaka says:

Caine, it was a lovely, lazy, relaxing time and I didn't do any work for a day and a half. Good chats with Geo and I saw more TV with Nige than I think I've seen this year...

12th Sep 2006, 12:04

Geodyne says:

Well, you do kind of almost have your own room here....at least when it's not full of weaving loom!

12th Sep 2006, 12:04

Dhamaka says:

What is it with cats and bath tubs.

12th Sep 2006, 13:20

Dhamaka says:

you're probably right Nige, it still feels strange to 'not work' for an entire day..

Kostika - who knows, but it makes for nice photos

jetblack - you really should. Misha is wonderful and it's great to see her play with Tarka (her son) now

12th Sep 2006, 14:57

Dhamaka says:

12th Sep 2006, 15:26

Mischa & Tarka? Beautiful names too!

12th Sep 2006, 15:55

Dhamaka says:

thank you!

Mischa (apparently spelled misca) means 'little kitten' in Italian and was named by my brother's kids and Tarka was named by Mum for the film

12th Sep 2006, 17:36

kostika says:
