swamprose (Toronto, police, Islamic Centre right behind) says:

Next stop was a group of Toronto bike cops. All busy writing. I walked around the corner to see everyone coming out of the Islamic centre after prayers.

Thwarted! Saw the title on the sidebar & thought I was going to get motorsickles! ;)
A more benign thought - what time was it? Clumps of feverishly writing police officers are often an indication that it's coming up to shift change time... :)

h, I asked them. Not a shirt change. And around the corner, more cops standing around pretending to be doing nothing. As prayers ended, the street flooded with Muslims, and I wondered what was really going on.

Over here, the nutters hang out after prayer meetings, giving out their leaflets, along with the guys promoting qawali nights or new asian grocery stores... there's dodgy cultists and political loonies of one sort of another all over the place. Obviously it's a shame that we seem to have one for a Prime Minister, but that only serves to demonstrate how even a bright boy with all the advantages can be swayed into violent & ill-advised action...

h, things are no better here. Politicians, the people who decide how to do things are more fuelled by fear, not faith. we need miracles.

hildegard says:

Hmm.. don't think I'd much like a politician fuelled by either of those. One fuelled by reason, ethics and compassion might be nice but faith & fear have always looked like best buddies to me...

anonynous was me. I keep getting logged out and I am not aware of it. I value your perspective, but decisons made from fear do not good ones, in my small experience,

they're cyclists, not bikers, subtle difference!
