"And as you cross the circle line,
Well the ice wall creaks behind
You're a rabbit on the run.
And the silver splinters fly
In the corner of your eye,
Shining in the setting sun.
Well do you ever get the feeling
That the story's too damn real
And in the present tense.
Or that everbody's on the stage
And it seems like you're the only
Person sitting in the audience
Skating away, skating away, skating away
On the thin ice of the new day"

Love the musical instruments....and the clothes, and the crazy patchwork quilt....it is a great museum, fancy being allowed to touch!
Thanks, P. There is *so much* stuff to look at, just about everything you can imagine. I'll have to go back and get another shot of the 1930s school bus, the one I took was too dark. It's a huge open style horse carriage. The quilts are all handmade, most of them dating 1910 through the 1920s. They are wonderful "remember me" quilts. :D
wonderful place. The squeezebox on the incredible piano, and the harmonium on the bottom really make me want to visit.
Looks like an interesting place, great that they keep all this stuff "it's natural habitat"
yes - good that things are where they should be
really annoyed me when we went to Skara Brae in the Orkneys and all the things that had been uncovred there were in the museum in Edinburgh!
Swamprose, thanks. :D I took a closeup of the squeezebox, I'll post it for you.
Thanks, Joker. The museum is one of the town's original houses, and it even houses cars. :D
Thanks, Viv. :) What a disappointment to find out things were in the wrong place!
What a fantastic place! Where is Almont? (or who?) Is that an eighteenth century piano in the 4th one? Lovely to be able to still play these things :)
Thanks! Almont is a very tiny town (pop. 203) in North Dakota. Really the middle of nowhere. :) Yes on the piano. It's absolutely massive, and in exquisite condition. I'd have to go back and double check, but I believe it was the piano in the original saloon here.
and photographs? I see at least a few behind the piano.
Thanks, Eroika. :D
Yes, lots and lots of photos, old newspapers and documents of all types, Factotum. :)
