The results of my dentist trip this morning - She even let me keep the
trophy! I'm feeling a little sorry for myself, and am pretty sure this is going to hurt like hell in about 2 hours when the numbness wears off.

Ow! You poor thing.

I'm sure it's going to feel a lot better without it in a few days.

3rd Oct 2006, 09:37

Grrrrrosss! What the hell did you do to it to warrant its pulling out?!?

seaneeboy says:

Heh - looks a lot worse than it actually was (and I'm sure I'm going to get a worried phonecall from my mum soon too - I promise it was fine!)

Basically FAR too long ago a chunk of it broke off, I went in to an emergency dentist and got it packed up and I was sent off. It didn't hurt because the root had died, so never bothered me for a while. Aaanyway, we finally got around to registering with a dentist recently and one of the first things she said was that it had to come out - fair enough, I said, as it didn't really bother me either way - so today was the day.

So it looks a lot worse than it is because it's not actually bothered me in all the time it's been in there - but looks REALLY cool :)

Paintist - It might *look* it, but it's definately not. And certainly no worth the rather painful and long term root canal work that would have been needed to even half salvage it.

seaneeboy says:

OK, NOW this hurts.

Good call - mate of mine tried to conserve the tooth in similar circs - 2.5 years of dentistry, abcesses, pain & misery & they finally gave up & extracted it anyway.

seaneeboy says:

Heh - it probably is the most grim thing I've ever posted - you'll be glad to know I have no urge to better it.

For all those worried, I promise I'm absolutely fine - A couple of paracetamol and the pain is no worse than the equivilent of someone holding their finger against your jaw - a little annoying yes, but not too painful as such. And it didn't hurt at all while it was in.

... but looks pretty gruesome , dunnit!

crickson says:

For Christ's sake Sean, post something else so I don't have to look at it on my page. Blurrggh : (
