"We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered." - Guildenstern, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead

My old car stereo was dying, and I've been wanting to use my iPod in
my car for a while... So yesterday, I went out and bought a new
stereo and a phone mount and installed them myself. :) To quote my
dad and my brother, "You did WHAT?! And it's WORKING?!" Why yes, it
is. :D

well done you!

i too am impressed that you've managed to install it yourself - not because i don't think you'd be able to do it, but because i know i'd mess it up...

Joe says:

hee it took me a while to realise why the ipod was facing the way it is....then it struck drive on the wrong side of the road :D

daz says:

Joe: No, no, YOU drive on the wrong side!! ;P

monkey_finger: about an hour and a half, altogether. ;) Driving to the Ford dealership and looking helpless until they finally took out the old stereo for free not included. ;)

tee hee!

an hour and a half sounds pretty respectable to me...

no respect for looking helpless though ; )

I know it's not, eh, feministically acceptable, but I refuse(d) to buy those special tools just to be able to *remove* the old stereo! ;)

nice job daz. am firm believer in batting eyelashes and asking for the kindness of strangers (men), when needed. but I do like a woman with her own going off to drive on the RIGHT side of the road, with you...rock on.

Good job Daz!

For the record; many years back, when there were only horse & carts on the road, the driver, who was usually right handed, would need to sit on the right of the vehicle so as to keep his right arm free to sweep the whip across and over the horses.
This would mean driving on the left hand side of the road.
No one has yet been able to give me a good reason why people started driving on the right.
