Prince of the apple towns

Now as I was young and easy under the apple boughs
About the lilting house and happy as the grass was green,
The night above the dingle starry,
Time let me hail and climb
Golden in the heydays of his eyes,
And honoured among wagons I was prince of the apple towns
And once below a time I lordly had the trees and leaves
Trail with daisies and barley
Down the rivers of the windfall light

From Fern Hill, Dylan Thomas
Full poem here, well worth a read: Fern Hill

You're welcome. I'm glad someone did! It's a classic and it had been going around in my head since visiting the orchard.

But more to the point, how are you?

Fine thanks, just burbled a bit on my blog. The last bad episode was in April, when I was skiing, and I managed to controlit myself then so not too concerned. Would be v apprehensive about going on a long haul flight or anywhere too isolated though...

It does sound very frightening. Is there anything you can do to prevent a re-occurence?

Cross posting now, but there is a tentative link with alcohol/caffeine so I'm cutting down on those. Otherwise you can have medication (Beta blockers, etc) but I really don't want to go down that route if I can help it.

Wonderful pictures set-off beautifully by the verse. Well done!

Fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again.

Cross-posted! The last comment was re. Gael's health episode.

Obviously I'm open to the ghost of Dylan Thomas chasing me around my father in law's orchard anytime :-) Thanks Euphro.
