i now have a FLICKR page too!

"why would a reviewer make the point of saying someone's *not* a genius? do you especially think i'm *not* a genius? you didn't even have to think about it, did you?"

"monkeys are superior to men in this: when a monkey looks into a mirror, he sees a monkey.”

"i am secretly afraid of animals.... i think it is because of the usness in their eyes, with the underlying not-usness which belies it, and is so tragic a reminder of the lost age when we human beings branched off and left them: left them to eternal inarticulateness and slavery. why? their eyes seem to ask us."

"we've all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the entire works of shakespeare. thanks to the internet, we now know this is not true..."

african monkey proverb: "the day the monkey is destined to die, all the trees get slippery."

"i'll buy a bunch of monkeys, dress them up, and make them re-enact the civil war"

JokerXL says:

The defence against the dreaded "one-handed, double-fingered eye attack" is to hold up your hand, vertically and straight-palmed, with the thumb in line with and running along the length of the nose, thus thwarting the "jabber".
Counter to this defensive move could be a swift change from the attacker to the "two-handed, single finger" method, circumventing the defence attitude on two flanks, in which case; you're buggered!

i think you can see the 'defence hand' coming up in the bottom of the pic :)

tom doesn't like the upward-hand-defence, he thinks its unsportsman-like

i also think his hand looks worryingly like one of the aliens' hands from independence day

number 3...is that the industrial 'ambience' of the Apple you are posting....or just a great big tank of cider?

17th Oct 2006, 14:28

thats just ambience. the pub is on a boat - i have my own castle barge! yay!

17th Oct 2006, 15:21

oh, and swamprose - there aren't many places like this. most places only have one or maybe two ciders. this is a dedicated cider bar.
