So, The bus queue was all the way up town street today again, but a little faster. As we turned the corner at the end of the street (past the library) the jolly busdriver man shouted to another busdriver "It's like the Italian Job today!" Which made me smirk.

So I run through the station in 40 seconds (a new record for me!) and leap onto the train after a man with a bicycle which held the train up. Conductor says "You don't know how lucky you just were!" "FLAURGH!" I reply.

So I'm reading my book and get to the end and thought "Oooh, that was good, didn't think I was going to get to the end" when I realised we were in Keighly. Not so lucky.

Thankfully that train came back and I was on my way to work 2 minutes later. Got in at half past so am really only 15-20 mins late and I can make that up at lunch. PHEW!

Verdict: Human Error.

Pesky human error :)

From the thumbnail I thought that was a light sabre on the left of the picture!!

seaneeboy says:

*that* would have made things a lot more exiting in the jam!

18th Oct 2006, 11:46

FilbertFox says:

which human made an error then?

chris says:

The bloke at the front looks like he has his head in his hands, sobbing gently to himself.

I can concur at the carpark leeds becomes at about 5.30 though. It would probably be quicker if I walked (shame Chapeltown's in the way...).

FilbertFox says:

move to the southside - a jam free zone

18th Oct 2006, 21:10

chris says:

The south side??

But that's the *dark* side!

There be monsters.

FilbertFox says:

south side good, no traffic jams, and a friendly 'llama' in every field

18th Oct 2006, 21:15

chris says:

It worries me that you've put llama in apostrophes - what are they really?

Viv says:

think it was Sean FF who in his rush to catch the train jumped on the wrong one and ended up in Keighley instead of Bingley - silly boy - happaens to us all sometime - well speaking for myself I know I've done it!

18th Oct 2006, 21:45

FilbertFox says:

some of shaggy farm animal that likes to live in a field next to the M1. I like to think of them as llamas, it makes a simple fox very happy

seaneeboy says:

Yes, the human error was sadly mine. So much for blame culture, eh?

Well, I tried to avoid it yesterday by walking to the end of wellington st, only to have the 16 fly by despite three of us waving out hands at it from the busstop.

So ended up walking most of the way home before Mrs Eeboy jumped in her car and picked me up, which was nice of her.

Hurrah for public transport!

seaneeboy says:

and viv - it was worse than that, I was on the right train, but was too engrossed in my book to spot us pulling into and out of bingley! It's the kind of thing you're more likely to do on the tube, I recon...

FunnyBunny says:

The book must have been good to have you miss your stop :-)
I hate Public Transport...tube or bus, it's too overcrowded, especially when the noisy school kids get on...

Euphro says:

What a pain! It's just like that on the A10 every morning too :(

19th Oct 2006, 12:57

FilbertFox says:

ah. my intended sarcastic remark was too subtle. maybe i should have said "sean is human?"

19th Oct 2006, 21:13

Do you reckon that guy at the front of the bus is looking down that funny little hole that you can see the driver at the bottom of?

20th Oct 2006, 00:35

seaneeboy says:

LEN! Where the hell have *you* been?

And no, I think he's weeping at the futility of it all. The bus drivers usually seem in high spirits though. Masochists.

Oddly enough someone contacted me yesterday asking if they could create a painting from this photo, which is a real honour and compliment :)
