Turns out it did help to pay for some data recovery software. Managed to
salvage these - interesting effects added in the retrieval process...

If you're sure it's the retrieval system please ignore but I've seen that top effect a lot when part of a memory card is corrupted - could be your problem?
Beezer does like good like that though - like an old Harold Lloyd film. :)

Paintist - some pics came out with only half the image (why the 3rd pic is cropped like that), or doubled up like that top one. So glad I managed to salvage a pic of the beloved Beezer - can't tell you how much I love your dogs!!
