I'm here because it's a place where I want to be.

What do I do with my life - still pondering that, keep exploring the possibilities I suppose...

I do have another more personal moblog Vivupclose

Take a look at my daughter Beth's website...

food for thought...

Everyone, in some small sacred sanctuary of the self, is nuts. -Leo Rosten, author (1908-1997)

We think caged birds sing, when indeed they cry. -John Webster, playwright (c. 1580-1634)

There are two kinds of light -- the glow that illuminates, and the glare that obscures. -James Thurber, writer and cartoonist (1894-1961)

The artist brings something into the world that didn't exist before, and he does it without destroying something else. -John Updike, writer (1932-2009)

Some people become so expert at reading between the lines they don't read the lines. -Margaret Millar, novelist (1915-1994)

There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest. -Elie Wiesel, writer, Nobel laureate (b. 1928)

Viv says:

I used to teach with Jon and his music brought us all such pleasure at school, now he's the one responsible for us going to the blues club and he's decide that he'd like to do more 'playing' so he and his sister Charlotte got a spot at the Boathouse Shipley (a pub I will return to - good food for veggies too)
It was a lovely evening - Charltte has a beautiful voice and they are both very talented and perform all sorts of music - the majority of which Jon has written.
Thanks bothxx

Looks like a great night Viv.
My mate and I (both mediocre guitarists) have a theory about musically multi-talented people,
IT SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED!
If you can play more than one instrument well all but one should be taken away from you and redistributed to the less fortunate.
Kind of musical Communism.

FilbertFox says:

if like me you play a couple badly do you get to keep 'em?

29th Oct 2006, 10:39

JokerXL says:

Struggling feebly with a couple, as I do too, is a virtue and a thing to be admired.

29th Oct 2006, 10:48

FilbertFox says:

ooo, i likes being admired - a rare treat

Spiderbaby says:

This looks like a great evening! Hooray for multi-instrumentalism!

Must practice my recorder -poor Crickson, it's not turning out to be his lucky weekend...

29th Oct 2006, 11:41

FilbertFox says:

joker - Spiderbaby plays a mean recorder. and if she had a piano on which to practice she would reign supreme. If you took away her extra instruments she would not be able to torture Crickson, and that would be sad!
