Was planning to try it a bit later today. Me being bright, totally forgot to bring the cd in with me yesterday!!

Right now I'm trying to install it on an old Thinkpad 240x. Not a simple task as it has no CD-ROM and you can't boot from USB. I'm having to remove the hard disk and put it in a laptop with a CD-ROM to part-install it there, before putting the hard disk back in the 240x and crossing my fingers :)

Blimey, that sounds far too tricky for my abilities. I've got a choice of two old machines, the one I killed with tea a year ago, or an even older Sattelite that runs Win95.

You'll need 128 MB of RAM for the Xubuntu graphical installer, but it will then run in 64 MB. That may help you decide which one to try (if you download the Xubuntu Alternate CD-ROM, you only need 64 MB for text installation) :)

Hmmm, I think it'll most likely only stand a chance of working on the newer one in that case.
Thanks E :)
