More Snow Making

(viewed 1137 times)

The only time I have seen these ice formations is during the making of
artificial snow and prolonged freezing rain. When the temperature is
just right, water droplets stay liquid in the air but grassblades are
freezing cold. Once the process gets started the ice fingers grow
much longer than the blade of grass that started them out.Now that the air has cooled down a few degrees, the snowguns are
making snow properly, but some of these snowfingers, reaching up from
the ground, are not yet covered. With a clear sky above and more than
sufficiently cool temperatures, the snow guns will once again be
running all night long.
