hildegard says:

You're in EAnglia, yes? At this rate you could be growing kombu & samphire in a few years... :(

mat says:

Samphire grows in the Broads, and is a local traditional meal, I believe. I could be wrong.

Isn't Kombu seaweed?

Oh, hang on. I get it. Duh me. We actually live on top of one of the biggest rises ('hill' is too strong a word) for some distance, but yes. Next time Tullis is over here, I'll get him to give us a GPS reading for altitude. :)

Dhamaka says:

in the garden... not the greenhouse?

21st Nov 2006, 19:29

mat says:

no, you're right. greenhouse. I tend to lump all of 'not in the house' into 'garden'

even so. it's not heated, and it has large ventilation gaps built into it.

Dhamaka says:

absolutely - just interested because I picked the green tomatoes off mine a couple of days ago and if you had the confidence to leave your stuff outside I would have been kicking myself about mine..

midlife says:

Almighty Angel, Almighty Angel quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells and cockle shells
And pretty maids all in a row.

crazyb says:

Even in the greenhouse that's pretty good going, and red ones!

We live 4miles from Bournemouth, and ours have gone over, but its usually excess heat that finishes ours off in the greenhouse.

You need some for green tomato chutney though!

mat, Geodyne and I are both on Vodafone and have had absolutely no success sending mms to e-mail recently. When I last spoke to Vodafone in the summer they admitted that it was a problem (it even had a number). They obviously haven't solved it yet. They pushed out the settings for e-mail from my 'phone and that's what I've used since. I tried mms to e-mail again recently but no joy.

mat says:

Thanks for letting me know. Vodafone have, after two hours on hold, just admitted there is a problem with their mms-to-email service. Some messages are just vanishing into nowhere.

On top of that, there is another problem where (on the occasions messages make it out of VF central), some mail comes from an invalid domain, so all sane mail servers, including moblog's, will drop it.

Personally, I can't get any of my mms to go to any email addresess - moblog or otherwise. But then I never use mms-to-email, I use my phone's email client or the usb cable and Thunderbird.

biffadigital says:

bloody hell...don't you have frosts? Oh Samphire grows in the bays south of Blackpool but not at this time of year. Fried sliced green tomatoes are good with black pepper.
