All my Dad's girls

From the left: Valerie (31), Katherine (Kate - 28), Melissa (13), Sarah (11). Kate and I have the same mother. Melissa and Sarah have a different mother. What's funny is that I think Kate and Melissa look a lot alike, and Sarah and I look a lot alike (I'm really very blonde like she is). We all have the same father....who only ever wanted a boy and got 4 girls :)

heh - yeah :) I think he's pleased. The best part is, my uncle (his brother) always wanted girls, and ended up with 3 boys!

That's a great 'photo and a great story. You do look alike as you suggest, too. It's intersting that your Dad's genes appear to be controlling appearance. We know people in Germany who are descended from minor aristocracy. They have paintings of family members from the 18th century and, looks wise, the men are indistinguishable from the men of the current generation, despite being 9 or more generations apart. :)

This photo is a family tradition since the 2 younger girls were kids. We don't see our dad (or our sisters very often - maybe once a year), so whenever we get together, we do the "Couch Picture". We have about 10 of these now, and it's neat to see how everyone's grown up.

Genes are definitely interesting - but what's even more interesting is that I look almost exactly like my *maternal* grandmother, so it's just strange how Sarah and I seem to look so much alike.

Excellent shot - it's just like the Brady Bunch, but with an extra gal tagged on for good measure.
