We called in at Tesco this afternoon to collect a couple of bits.I dropped SWMBO off at the door and I drove around the car park as there
were no parking spaces. I hovered at the end of one of the rows for a
couple of minutes until I saw SWMBO come back to the car with 2 bags of
shopping, I get out open the boot put the bags in and find this on the
windscreen. The tw4t had watched me get out of the car so he could put the ticket on
the window.

Hotdog,

he had the uniform (Jacket with Euro Car Parks on and a hat) but I didn't see any ID on him.. They also had a number of other staff wearing HiViz coats over Euro Car Park sweatshirts who were walking around 'spotting' cars which were parked 'illegally'.

I am going back tomorrow to see where on the site is tells me that
A Euro Car Parks are responsible for it
B What instruction it gives to designated parking areas.

Fkin typical. Loading the shopping in your boot constitutes parking. He would have been well annoyed if swmbo had just put the shopping on the back seat and you had driven off.

I spoke to one about a month ago outside a place where I had got a ticket. He told me that if somebody shouted to him that they were coming just as the time was expiring he woukld do his best to get a ticket written and issued before he reached them. He looked most put out when I said he had no shred of human decency about him.

Ask them to show you some documentary evidence that the car was parked incorrectly, like maybe a digital photo or some cctv footage, there should be no excuse for a lack of evidence in this day and age.

If they didn't have any parking spaces available at all, it seems to me like YOU were the customer who was inconvenienced.

I got slapped with a 255 (yes, twohundredandfiftyfive) pound wheel clamp outside Tesco's, I was away precisely 7 minutes!

Tori says:

I just read violation E. What is up with that? They don't want you to shop at the store too often?

23rd Dec 2006, 20:39

Bloody Hell! JXL that is one expensive shop..

I'm still pissed off at this but will spend some time writing my letter to them..

Tori, Probably not, the store I was 'booked' at takes circa 2million a week during December so they don't need my 12 quid..

SFG NLI says:

Patsy, I doubt very much if the person you are talking about lost their licence due to 'speeding' on Tesco Car Park. The land is private land so there for difficult to get points on your licence. The police could be called and could speak to the person allegedly speeding. Tesco would have to start civil action and I doubt that that would culminate in points on the licence.

GRD says:

Just a point, Tesco's car park or any public car park for that matter is not private land, if it were classed as such then my 10yr old could drive there...

You could've taken his badge number.
